Kendal Buster Response
While most of his work is very unique (and pretty cool), I find Buster's work to be cold and industrial overall. It is robotic and redundant to me. He creates unnatural shapes that have a harsh and man-made feeling. These feelings for me probably come from how these works remind me of a big city skyline, which does not hold very positive connotations for me. At the same time, he accomplishes many different things with his pieces - they must be interesting to explore and inhabit for short periods of time. The pieces do have a certain interest about them. His use of wire mesh is much different from any sculpture work I have ever seen before. It gets brownie points for that. If they were not as sharp and unnatural as they are, they probably would not achieve the same effect that they currently manage.
